Queen Elizabeth II once quoted Goderich as being the "prettiest town in Canada" - even though no reigning monarch has ever visited the place. Still, it is a fitting motto for this beautiful location along Lake Huron. Situated as the county seat for Huron County, Goderich boasts beautiful sunsets, miles of beach, and plenty of history to discover. From the old CPR railways to the lifelong history of the town's marine ports to its many gardens, Goderich is an excellent stop for any visitors to the area.

The town was founded in 1827 and named after the British Prime Minister in power at the time. It was officially incorporated in 1850.
