Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto

Nathan Phillips Square is a plaza that forms the forecourt of Toronto's current City Hall. It is the site of weekly farmer's markets, art displays, outdoor concerts, and festivals. It has been used in feature films, and historically also as a launching pad for demonstrations. In the 1960s. it was the site of protests and "hunger strikes" against alleged police brutality against hippie culture in Yorkville
