Annick Press and Groundwood Books have been nominated for the Bologna Book Prize for the Best Children?s Publisher of the Year by the Bologna Book Fair. Six awards from six geographic regions — North America, Asia, Africa, Central-South America, Europe and Oceania — will be given out, with around four or five publishers being a part of each area?s shortlist. Annick Press and Groundwood Books made the North American list. This is a new award that has been created in honour of Bologna Children?s Book Fair?s 50th anniversary.
The North American nominees are:

- Groundwood Books, Toronto, Canada
- Houghton Mifflin, New York, USA
The winners, which will be selected by publishing houses that are participating in the fair, will be announced on March 26th, 2013 at the Bologna Book Fair?s 50th Anniversary of the Fair ceremony.
