Noticed: Nonhummingbird

By Gary Barwin

The poet Gary Barwin has recently published a new poem on his blog. The poem, called "Nonhummingbird," is accompanied by one of Barwin's Escher-like drawings of a small pile of hummingbirds. The poem flows in Barwin's characteristic sparse and slowly rhythmic style, with small, light beats that guide you forward so gently that you do not even notice being pushed — much like the beats of a hummingbird's wings, which, because of their speed and their smallness, are invisible to the eye.
