Renée Miller and Carlos J. Cortes, the authors of Writer’s Companion, have developed On Fiction Writing, a website that is is “dedicated to writers who are serious about improving their craft and helping other writers to do the same.” Miller and Cortes write,
Behind the e-zine homepage, OFW is a community devoted to writing and to supporting both new authors and seasoned professionals in a confusing and sometimes depressing industry that is rapidly changing. Members can promote their work in the Showcase, a virtual bookshelf where published or unpublished writers can post the first five pages of their books to tempt readers or industry professionals, or hone their skills in the Peer Critique workshop, utilizing the knowledge and expertise of writers of all skill levels to polish their manuscripts until they shine. These are only a couple of the goodies awaiting OFW members.
