In September 2009, Mary Lou Finlay, well-known author and CBC Radio personality, visited Brockville to help launch the Thousand Islands Writers Festival. She stood on the tall ship Fair Jeanne and spoke about some of the stories from her newly published book As It Happens: Radio That May Contain Nuts.
