Novel Idea has a great selection of local and regional literature to delve into the history of Kingston and its surrounding area. It's showcased right at the front of the store, evidence of the local pride of Kingstonians. Although Oscar Malan believes that chain bookstores can and should co-exist with indie bookstores, he says, "Independent stores can be responsive right at the local level."
