Ken on the significance of literature becoming a permanent part of the Canadian landscape:
"It is just sort of part of the civic landscape that one can stumble across. I love the notion that there is nothing hectoring about it, you know? There isn't someone standing there with a bell, ringing it, 'Come over and read the poem'. I like that someone can just, sort of, quietly, as they are wondering where their ride is, stumble on this thing and read it and like it or not."
