A Childs Day

From the perspective of brother and sister John and Emily, we are taken through a day in the life of a child growing up in the 19th Century. As soon as the sun rises, the day starts for this family of early settlers. They go on their long walk to their one-room school for the day's lessons and they end the day with their chores back at the home.

This book teaches the ways that children were raised, as well as the difference in the way that girls and boys were prepared for their futures. Children are taught the lessons that the youth were taught in the 19th century, as well as the books, toys and games they would have spent their time using. This book aids in the understanding of the way that things used to be, before modern times, and each page is filled with delightful artwork illustrated by Atoinette DeBiasi. This educational book will help to teach children while telling a colourful and insightful story.
