Local Durham artist, Carol Pike, is the winner of the Whispered Words cover art anthology. Her cover design will grace an anthology of the top stories from the Whispered Words prose competition run by The Writers’ Community of Durham Region.
Contest judge David Schembri of Surfacing magazine said the “simple but direct” image has a “unique, memorable look and grassroots quality which goes along with the theme ‘Whispered Words.’ The eyes really tell the story.”
WCDR will present Carol with her $150 prize at the February 10, 2023 breakfast meeting. Details on purchasing the anthology will appear in May on the WCDR website.
